Handset Nokia ini menggunakan sistem operasi MeeGo karena nokia telah menandatangani kontrak dengan Microsoft untuk mengadaptasi Windows Phone 7 pada smartphone masa depannya. Kali ini Nokia juga menggunakan curved Gorilla Glass yang sebelumnya diterapkan oleh Google Nexus S, microSIM, dan desain unibody yang terbuat dari polycarbonate.
